Hairy Situation for Rye Police
This month, if you inadvertently set off your home alarm or fail to yield in your favorite roundabout, don’t be surprised if the Rye Police officer coming to the rescue or writing that summons shows more than a little stubble on the chin. Members of the department are participating in No Shave November to benefit Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester County Medical Center. Acting Commissioner of Public Safety Lt. Robert Falk has suspended the Rye Police appearance policy. Officers who make a $100 donation may grow a beard or mustache. “We’ll have some fun with this,” commented Rye PBA President Gabe Caputo, “but our hearts are with the sick children and their families who face challenging times.”
