DON’T MISS
Bring Your Own Easter Basket
Every year, on the Saturday morning before Easter, families flock to one of the two Easter Egg Hunts held in town.
The Carole D. Kirby Memorial Easter Egg Hunt, open only to City of Rye residents, is held at Rye Recreation Park. Egg hunters (age 2 through grade 5) are divided into different sections based on age and grade. The event is sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rye Fire Department and the Rye Fire Department.
On March 30, the lineup begins at 10:30 on the basketball courts. The hunt begins at 11 sharp.
For nearly two decades, The Osborn has invited all to its annual hunt on the great lawn, where there are 6,000 candy-filled eggs for children to find and enjoy as well as carnival games. The event is held in memory of Jack Miller, The Osborn’s longtime board member and former chair.
On March 30, the gates open at 10:45 and the hunt begins promptly at 11:15.
Residents of The Osborn, who watch from the sidelines, look forward to the event almost as much as the children.
