Rye Police Department announced an arrest March 24 in the Rye High School and Middle School bomb threat incident that occurred March 9. The accused is Bryan Franco, 17, of Rye, who is a student at the High School.
Franco was charged with a Class D Felony, Falsely Reporting an Incident, in the First Degree. According to RPD, since the charge is a felony, the accused was not charged as a youthful offender. He was released into the custody of his parents on $2,500 bail.
In their statement, Rye Police noted that the investigation is active and ongoing, with additional arrests expected. It is also possible that additional charges maybe filed against Franco.
