While many of us are hibernating, hoping for warm, sunny days and non-icy driveways, The Rye Arts Center just keeps on humming and creating an inviting indoor landscape.
On January 30, crowds showed up at the opening of “Winter White: The Absence of Color,” curated by Katharine Dufault. The exhibit, which is filled with warmth and beauty in every media, runs through March 2.
The Jones Factor, under the direction of John Fumasoli, had the joint jumping February 5. The ten-piece funk, fusion, jazz ensemble, now in its 30th year, welcomed guitarist, composer, and arranger Chieli Minucci to the mix.
The Art Center’s next scheduled concerts are March 12 and April 16. Get your tickets early.
Meanwhile, on your next visit, take time to gaze at the sculpture in front of the building. In Stride by Joan Benefiel is the latest installment in the Center’s ongoing public art series “Art on the Lawn.”
