BOL Restores Nature Center Curators, And County Exec Leaves Them Off Veto List

When residents heard the news last week that the County Board of Legislators had restored the curator positions at the County nature centers in the 2012 budget, there was an outpouring of good feeling.

 

When residents heard the news last week that the County Board of Legislators had restored the curator positions at the County nature centers in the 2012 budget, there was an outpouring of good feeling.

 

Friends of Read Sanctuary President Joy Reidenberg told the paper, “What the County Legislators understood was that people want parks and consider them an essential service. They got the message.”

 

County Executive Rob Astorino was listening, too. When he announced his vetoes of the 2012 County Budget, the nature centers weren’t on the list
