The School of the Holy Child community, joined together this year to support Habitat for Humanity of Westchester’s vital work throughout Westchester County.

Students of Holy Child’s E.E. Ford Program in Architecture, Engineering, and Design for the Common Good have partnered with the organization for three years, but this year’s efforts extended to all Upper and Middle School students, faculty, staff and families, as well.

Whether they were part of the team that volunteered to help build houses or beautify neighborhoods, sold promotional items at Homecoming, or raised money at the Fun Run, the Holy Child community contributed to the initiative to help the less fortunate in Westchester.
“At School of the Holy Child, we are dedicated to working for Christian principles of justice, peace, and compassion in every facet of life. We are thankful for the opportunity to help families in need and support the important work of Habitat for Humanity,” said Head of School William C. Hambleton.

As a result of their efforts, Holy Child presented a check for $6,143 to Habitat CEO Jim Killoran. “This is a great blessing,” said Killloran. “Holy Child’s continued commitment of faith in action leads the way in challenging others to do the same. If our youth can take the lead in making a difference, adults and congregations can join them by picking up a hammer, writing a check, and building another home for a family in need.”
