Longtime Rye Record contributor and noted historian Paul Hicks informed us that he read the printed <<Community Calendar>> included in our last issue of 2017 closely.
“To prove how closely I read it, the description of Rye says that it is ‘New York State’s smallest city’. However, the least populous city is Sherrill (3,048 in 2016), which is near Mechanicville. Rye is the latest, and maybe the last city chartered in NYS (because of political obstacles, viz. Port Chester).
