Sixty-seven members of Coveleigh Club, ages 4 to 80, “made waves to fight cancer” on July 20. It was the 11th year that club members have participated in a Swim Across America-Long Island Sound pool swim. They stroked their way, a half-mile or mile, to raise funds for cancer research, prevention, and treatment.
This was the second of eight swims in Westchester this summer. All of Westchester comes together every summer for this cause.
Proceeds support immunotherapy research at the Swim Across America Laboratory at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, pediatric oncology research at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian, and patient services with Cancer Support Team.
The 30th annual Long Island Sound Open Water Swim is set for July 30.
