Diets that Last a Lifetime

There are no fleeting fad diets at Judi Finch’s Diet Center of Rye. On the contrary, Finch’s philosophy on successful weight loss is similar to her philosophy on her 28-year-old business at 135 Purchase Street. There’s no sense in doing it if you’re not in it for the long haul.

“During all the years I’ve been here, I’ve had thousands of success stories of people losing weight and keeping it off. I teach a lifestyle and I love what I do,” said the diet counselor, who provides one-to-one support for each and every client.

Finch attributes the key to the program’s efficacy to a combination of diet, vitamin supplements and accountability. Although the high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet is quite strict, the vitamin supplements the Diet Center provides during the weight loss period curb one’s hunger and improve metabolism. As far as accountability, Finch weighs her clients upon each visit. You can also visit this dhea clinic here if you’re looking for dietary supplement that will boost your optimum health!

“If your neighbor loses 20 pounds and looks fabulous and 20 years younger, chances are he or she has been to Diet Center,” she said. “Rye is lean, but perhaps someone would like to lose 10 pounds. That’s just as important to the individual as someone who needs to lose 50.”

Finch offers two diets, one in which clients eat their own food and one in which they rely upon the center’s “Instant Shape-Up” bars and shakes. These meal replacements may be utilized during the initial weight loss, as well as during the maintenance stage and beyond.

Once clients reach their goal weight, they typically visit the Diet Center once a week for a year to ensure long-term results. Finch also encourages them to continue exercising for 30 to 45 minutes four times a week. “If they’ve gained a couple of pounds, we talk about it and they get back on track. They really learn a lot about themselves,” she noted.

An attractive, fit woman, Finch admitted to not always having had a svelte figure. As a matter of fact, she lost a considerable amount of weight 28 years ago upon subscribing to Diet Center’s weight-loss and management plan, which originated in Akron, Ohio almost 40 years ago. Having become a walking advertisement for the center prompted her to buy her own franchise on the corner of Purchase Street and Highland Road.

Centrally located near both I-95 and 287, Diet Center draws clients from all directions. Just outside of Rye’s main downtown, there is always plenty of parking, too. In addition, Finch provides a cozy atmosphere. About the only dead give-away one’s not visiting her at home is the old-fashioned doctor’s scale she keeps in her office.

“It’s hard to lose weight alone. I am here six days a week, so clients can come in as often as they like,” she said.

Why wait until New Year’s Eve to get around to losing weight? Before summer’s end, contact Judi Finch by calling 967-9462 or emailing heyjude0125@hotmail.com.
