Rye High senior Jacob Nurick is hoping April brings May flowers and his selection as an Eagle Scout with Troop 2.

This week, Nurick installed a BIOTOP Bioponic gardening system at the Rye Nature Center. The system will consist of 15 to 20 planters on a portable display cart for inside the Nature Center and on the roof of an outdoor storage shed, creating a “green roof.”

Nurick also attached two sets of gutters to compare the runoff from the green roof side to the non-green roof side during rainfall. The low rooftop system will serve as an instructional display for Nature Center visitors and its summer day camp.
