It was another very good year for the Rye Y Wave Ryeders. After ending the season undefeated, the team emerged as the overall Westchester-Fairfield League champions for the seventh consecutive year. At the West Point meet, they swept the 8, 10, 12, and 14 and under divisions — the most ever.

Their performance at the State Championships in Buffalo, March 16-18, surpassed all expectations, and set several team records.

“All the swimmers had a great meet, achieving so many personal bests,” said Rye Y head coach Kate Tiedemann.

For the first time, the team won both the 8 and under girls’ and boys’ division. They placed 3rd in the 10 and under boys’, and 5th overall in the team division.
