The Rye YMCA recently received a $20,000 “Step Up 2 Health” partnership grant from United Way of Westchester and Putnam to fund the Y’s Healthier Communities Initiatives.
The grant will allow the Y to provide numerous programs throughout the Sound Shore, including Edible Gardens, Safe Routes to School, and the Y’s new LIVESTRONG and diabetes prevention programs. Alex Farrell, United Way’s Program Associate for Community Impact, presents the award to Gregg Howells, Executive Director of the Rye Y, and to Judy Myers, Westchester County Legislator and Board member of both the Rye Y and United Way.
