Eileen Tolve

Eileen M. Tolve of Rye, N.Y., died on March 29, 2024. She was 91 years old.

She grew up in the Pelham Bay area of the Bronx and graduated from St. Jean Baptiste School, where she played basketball.

After graduating from The Katherine Gibbs School, she worked for General Electric in New York City.

Eileen met her future husband, Frank Tolve, through the Snowcats Ski Club. They were married in 1963 and lived with their family on Forest Avenue for 60 years.

In Rye, Mrs. Tolve spent summer days at Oakland Beach and Coveleigh Club. An avid tennis and paddle player, she also enjoyed games of Bridge with friends, and Broadway shows. She was an active member of the Resurrection Parish.

Her family said, “Eileen was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, a dear friend, kind and faithful to the many who were blessed with her friendship, and a gracious and compassionate woman to all those who came in contact with her.”

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Tolve, of 50 years. She is survived by her children, Eileen, Frank, and Elizabeth; two grandchildren, Jessica and Liam; her brothers, James and Matthew Tolan; and her sister, Loretta Buckley.

A Mass of Christian burial was held April 6 at Church of the Resurrection. She was interred at he Tolve Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Chester.
