To the Editor:
There is growing opposition to the planned replacement of the green grass playing field with synthetic turf. It is critical that the City Council take a pause, and address the key concerns. A prudent approach is to form a representative working group(s) that will consider alternatives that do not adversely impact a historic neighborhood in a wetland area. Alternatives must also consider fiscal responsibility, other competing projects that require funding, the impact on the traffic flow, and precedent-setting so that we do not become a synthetic playland!
