Lorraine Wood O’Connor, a former longtime Rye resident, passed away on April 21, 2018 in Irmo, S.C. She was 90.
Born on June 29, 1927, in Greenwich, Conn., she was a daughter of Frank and Nellie Iverson Wood.
She married John Edward O’Connor in Rye, and together they raised their family. After they retired to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Mrs. O’Connor was a loving nanny to numerous children. Before moving to Irmo, she lived in Winder, Ga.
Mrs. O’Connor was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Linda Tumm (Michael), David O’Connor (Anne), and Cindy Ciaccio; her grandchildren, Michael Tumm, Kevin Tumm, Rachael O’Connor, Daniel O’Connor, Andrew Ciaccio, Tyler O’Connor, and Adam Ciaccio; her brother, Walter Wood; and her sisters, Dorothy Briganti, Marion Milazzo, and Audrey Crawford.
