Gerrish – Henderson
The celebration began with a rehearsal dinner at the rustic and elegant Gallatin River Lodge, where the Gerrish and Henderson families quickly bonded over good food and wine.
The reception party included a performance by the groom’s band, a legendary free-style rap by his brother, Monty Gerrish, and an “epic poem” read by the bride’s father, Tom Henderson. The poem was both a loving ode to his daughter and a light roast of his new son-in-law. The father of the bride’s reading was met with raucous applause.
After the last guest departed, the newlyweds retreated to Big Sky, Montana, for two days of rest at the Rainbow Ranch, where they enjoyed misty mountain fog and the first snows of winter.
Guests from Rye included the groom’s parents, Janet and Campbell Gerrish, and his brother and sister, Monty and Charlotte Gerrish.
The couple currently lives in Bozeman, Montana.
Patel — Murphy
The bride’s sisters, Ilana and Leyla Patel, were the maids of honor. Emily Colahan Cerone, Katherine Florio, Shana Kalson, Katherine Miller, and Lee Welling, all friends from childhood, were her bridesmaids. The flower girls were Samantha Blomfield, the bride’s niece, and Sadie Cerone.
The groom’s brother, Andy Murphy, was the best man. His groomsmen were longtime friends Fletcher Beach, James Lacouture, Chris Lafleur, John Richard, and Bryan Roux.
The bride is a graduate of Rye High School. She received her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University, and a B.S. and an M.A. in Nursing from Columbia University. She works as a family nurse practitioner at Mount Auburn Healthcare.
The groom, who grew up in Auburn, also graduated from Wesleyan University in 2006. He is an assistant vice president at State Street in Boston.
The couple met in the Wesleyan science library in their junior year.
