The Rye Y Gymnastics team returned from the National YMCA Gymnastics Championships earlier this month with multiple medals. They were one of 106 teams from all across the country that competed in the Nationals, June 28-July 2 in Milwaukee.
The Rye Y team’s dedication and team work was on display throughout the meet, with several notable performances, including Noey Johnson’s Level 4 all around 2nd place championship.
Level 4
Noey Johnson was the 2nd place all around champion. She received 2nd place on bars with a 9.2, 2nd place on floor with an 8.75, 8th place on beam with 8.35, and 9.15 on vault.
Taylor Worman placed 2nd on vault with 9.525, 8.75 on floor, 8.4 on bars, and 7.6 on beam.
Kelsey Walsh placed 5th on bars with 8.65, 8.35 on floor, 8.8 on vault, and 7.05 on beam.
Level 5
Cayla Brown placed 8th on beam with 8.675, 8.4 on floor, 7.85 on bars, and 7.6 on vault.
Gillian Leung scored 7.95 on vault, 7.75 on bars, 7.3 on beam, and 8.2 on floor.
McKenna Schultz scored 8.15 on vault, 7.5 on beam, and 8.25 on floor.
Level 6
Lily Donohue placed 6th on floor with 9.2, 9.0 on vault, and 8.025 on beam.
Caitlyn Walsh scored 8.5 on vault, 8.2 on beam, and 8.925 on floor.
Level 7
Debbie Musselman scored 8.6 on beam, 7.5 on floor, 9.05 on vault, and 7.45 on bars.
Future and current gymnasts can register for classes starting August 8 for members and August 15 for non-members.
