More than sixty employees of The Osborn participated in the 2013 Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 29. Their enthusiasm helped raise over $5,000 in donations.

As a 105-year-old organization devoted to caring for the elderly, many Osborn employees are involved in directly caring for those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The Osborn recently opened The H.O.P.E. Center for Memory Care, a 13-room secure wing overlooking the Betty Neagle Garden and the South Lawn.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. It is held annually in more than 600 communities across the country. Participants of all ages and abilities join together to raise funds to support the efforts to end Alzheimer’s disease, the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death.

Anyone interested in participating in next year’s Walk should contact Jane Fox, Director of Marketing, at 925-8205 or go to www.alz.org.
