10/21 Avoiding downtown gridlock probably. Caller stated large turtle on North Street was causing hazardous condition. Turtle was out of roadway. Rye Nature Center advised to leave it alone.

 

10/21 Smart turtle. Large group of youths on skateboards, bicycles in roadway, dining areas, Purchase Plaza, 3:39 p.m.

 

10/21 Only about 4,999 others in town. Suspicious person, Orchard Lane, 9:37 a.m. Caller reported party who claimed to work for Con Ed. Party checked.

 

10/20 Resident reported party was attempting to enter his residence and refused to leave.

 

10/20 “But, Officer, it’s a short pier.” Checked three people fishing at Dearborn Avenue dead end, 12:30 p.m. One warning issued for short fish.

 

10/19 Multiple callers reported slim Black female with pink hair wearing white shirt going door-to-door selling cleaning supplies without permit, Johnson Place/Keane Court.

 

10/19 Caller stated Black male, approximately 20 years of age, with black backpack was selling cleaning solution door-to-door, Allendale Drive/Oakland Beach Avenue. Spoke with party, informed him of requirement for permit.

 

10/19 Wilson Drive caller stated he was scammed into giving money via Zelle.

 

10/19 Milton Road complainant reported someone hacked her computer, may have access to her information.

 

10/18 Caller stated someone hit 2015 green Ford Fusion during the night, left scene.

 

10/18 Good luck to you, fella. Elmwood Avenue caller stated her vehicle was missing, both keys were in the house, car was locked. Caller later reported vehicle not stolen, advised her husband left it at a local club.

 

10/17 Well, they’re fast. Possible drag racing reported in Apawamis/Midland avenues or Milton Road areas. GOA.

 

10/17 Huh? Caller stated group of youths smoking pot in wooded area behind Rye Rec Damiano building, 2:09 p.m. Situation corrected.

 

10/17 White Birch Drive caller stated there were two [expurgated] in use before 10 a.m. 8:33 a.m. GOA.

 

10/17 Uber driver was having dispute with drunk passenger, 3:04 a.m. Male in group was dropped off on Palisade Road, requested driver to drop off at another location. Uber unable to accommodate request. Subject left on foot, no further assistance needed.

 

10/17 Weed it and weep. Vehicle parked at Marshlands, 2:12 a.m. Upon approach, odor of marijuana was emanating from vehicle. Marijuana handed to officer by party whose medical use card was invalid per ejustice/National Crime Information Center. Confiscated drug to be destroyed.

 

10/16 Tree down, Hillcrest Lane, blocking roadway. Large branches took down electrical feed to house. Taped off, made safe. DPW foreman on scene, Con Ed notified.

 

10/16 Caller stated FedEx truck had been parked in Blind Brook Lodge circle for one hour, thought driver may have injured ankle. FedEx manager on site, assisting driver with injuries.

 

10/16 Theodore Fremd Avenue caller reported man with gun in Mercedes-Benz in his driveway. Spoke with driver who pulled into driveway, picked up his girlfriend, resident of top floor in apartment building.

 

10/15 Caller stated music coming from Rye Grill & Bar was extremely loud and no social distancing was occurring, 10:32 p.m. Band shut down for night. All in order.

 

10/15 Davis Avenue resident stated he found his stolen vehicle blocks away from his home. Statement taken.

 

10/15 Black female wearing jeans, white shoes, Black Lives Matter mask reported soliciting door-to-door, 4:05 p.m. No permit on file. Party was advised to obtain permit. On her way.

 

10/15 MVA, Peck Avenue/Station Plaza. EMS responded.
