Police Blotter 10-11-13

 

10/8: Officer observed front door of Sunset Road home wide open. Upon further investigation discovered painters left door open. Residence empty, door secured.

 

10/8: Blue van blocked sightline, Manursing/Davis avenues. Van moved.

 

10/8: Midland Avenue resident reported attempted transaction using her name and credit card information.

 

10/8: Marlene Court complainant stated there was unauthorized activity on her bank account.

 

10/7: Caller reported white male standing in middle of North Street. Runner, out of breath.

 

10/7: Injured deer, Ann Lane. Dispatched.

 

10/7: Walk-in reported aggressive German Shepherd, Milton Road.

 

10/6: Smoke reported in second floor of Midland Avenue residence. Extension cord melted, condition corrected.

 

10/6: Buoy sizes. Summons issued, Buoy 36, undersized fish.

 

10/6: Truck strike. Several reports of truck striking BPR bridge, Playland Parkway.

 

10/5: Trick or retreat. Two youths seen with stolen pumpkin, BPR/Soundview Avenue. Pumpkin returned.

 

10/5: Desk informed large tree blocking Halstead Place. DPW informed.

 

10/5: Caller reported drunk driver, on Stuyvesant Avenue, entering AYC. Summons issued.

 

10/5: Anonymous caller reported loud party, Island Drive. Group of kids making loud noise. Party broken up, officer spoke with parents.

 

10/4: Two white males reported trying to sell make-up. Advised of City Code, need for permit.

 

10/3: Walk-in reported credit card fraud.

 

10/3: Vehicle reported broken into, Cottage Street.

 

10/2: Street lights out: police booth, BPR/Milton Road, Evergreen Avenue/Hillside Road, Hillside Road/Purchase Street.

 

10/2: Assist PEO with scofflaw violation. Contacted resident, will pay fines, PEO to follow-up.

 

10/2: Box Lunch. 911-caller reported box truck driver blocking traffic, Milton Circle/Grace Church Street. Driver was eating his lunch, on his way.

 

10/2: Rock-chipping after 5 p.m., Drake Smith Lane.

 

10/1: Further works every time. Pedestrian reported Rye Beach Avenue sewer cap moving up and down. Further investigation showed it moving up and down due to water rushing underneath.

 

10/1: Boat reported sinking at marina. Officer on scene de-watering boat.

 

10/1: Numerous calls of a serious MVA involving a utility pole transformer fire.

 

10/1: Rules of the Road. Warning issued, no full stop, failure to yield to oncoming traffic, Hillside Avenue. Warning issued, operating a mobile device while vehicle in motion, BPR/Cedar Street.

 

9/30: Six years, hard labor! Road blocked by large unoccupied moving truck parked on Central Avenue Bridge. Operator moved truck.

 

9/30: Caller stated she saw strange light coming from Greenhaven Beach. Thought kids might have fire on beach. Negative results.

 

9/30: Caller reported bus with “call police” sign illuminated, BPR/Purdy Avenue, unable to locate.

 

9/30: Larceny. White male fled into CVS attempting to leave with bag full of SWAG.

 

9/29: Caller stated bicycle stolen from train station.

 

9/29: Caller reported Trek mountain bike lying in grass, Grace Church/Loder streets.

 

9/29: Orchard Lane caller stated someone threatened her life over the phone.

 

9/28: Unregistered vehicle parked for over a week, Elizabeth/Purchase streets.

 

9/28: Received Mayday via VHF, vessel taking on water, persons in water, Captain’s Island.

 

9/28: Acting on resident complaint, Sgt issued summonses to vehicles illegally parked all over Rye Beach Avenue, blocking driveways.

 

9/28: Woods Lane resident reported someone opened several credit card accounts using his name.

 

9/27: Caller reported her son was attacked by RHS students on BPR by stadium. Second call from athletic director, all units sent.

 

9/27: Caller stated he is watching male setting fire in empty lot on Hewlett Avenue off Milton Road. In custody.

 

9/27: Wire-less network. Caller complained Fairway Avenue contractor pulled down cable wires on her home. Contractor to make arrangements with cable company.

 

9/27: Resident reported yellow paint on vehicle’s driver side after yellow lines painted, Milton Road/Playland Parkway. Statement directed to Corporation Counsel.

 

9/27: Larcenitzkova. Purchase Street shop reported male, female, possibly of Russian descent, stole jackets.

 

9/27: Disturbance reported at hair salon near Dock Deli. Unwanted guest asked to leave premise.

 

9/27: Resident injured by youths throwing snap caps. EMS on scene. Over a dozen Youths, unable to be identified, spoke with Officer, apologized to resident upon request. Sworn statement taken.

 

9/27: Red rage. Caller reported Oakland Beach Avenue/BPR traffic signal malfunctioning, only allowing approximately two vehicles before turning red.

 

9/27: Maple Avenue complainant stated male carrying bags urinating in yard, should be on Locust heading towards town. Canvassed area with negative results.

 

9/26: Patrol of train station due to loss of New Haven service/assisting MTA, monitoring bus route.

 

9/26: Caller requested check of RTP for unleashed dogs, 9:08 a.m. Upon arrival, few K9s had leashes, leaving with their owners.

 

9/26: Hotline out of Greenburgh, Capital One bank robbery suspect, operating gray four-door with tinted windows, Hispanic male wearing black sweater with “NYPD” and NYPD style cap.

 

9/25: Fulton Avenue caller stated dog constantly barking in back yard all day long, left outside unattended.

 

9/25: Fare thee well, sir. Rye Taxi driver handed in wallet left in his cab.

 

9/25: Caller stated RHS handicapped parking area near front entrance occupied by vehicles without permits. Summonses issued.
