11/21: Manursing Avenue resident lost gold link bracelet somewhere within Rye.

 

11/21: Drug complaint reported at Rye Rec upper pavilion. On picnic table were two open 40-oz. Budweiser bottles. Youth claimed they were his, he was 21, but unable to produce ID. Other youths were underage. Beer owner became increasingly agitated as he was questioned about drinking outside in youth recreation area, at school dismissal time, in the presence of youths. Offender created unreasonable noise, exhibited tumultuous behavior. Refused to be handcuffed peacefully. Placed into custody and transported to HQ.

 

11/22: Resident stated unknown party opened a bank account in his name without his knowledge.

 

11/22: Rye resident came into HQ to report he was receiving summons for 1999 Ford Escort he sold to a repair shop in Stamford. Provided proof of sale and proof he turned over plates to DMV. Obviously, Connecticut needs the money.

 

11/22: A big hair day. Fraudulent $400 check made out to Purchase Street salon. Complainant reported client came in for first time October 28 around 4 p.m. without appointment. Offender had haircut valued at $85, hair treatment at $40, paid for numerous products and tipped hairdressers heavily. Total $275. Account belonged to White Plains resident.

 

11/23: Walk-in stated someone was accessing her email and cell phone account without authorization. Reporting person also believes her husband’s phone account has been compromised.

 

11/23: Motor vehicle accident reported on Central Avenue. Officer observed two males standing outside vehicle, which was wedged in between guardrail and fence on Central Avenue Bridge. Operator, a Harrison resident, said he made right turn from Clinton onto Central and that vehicle’s overdrive caused it to crash into fence. Officer detected strong odor of alcoholic beverage. Offender slurred speech and whispered as he talked. Eyes glassy, watery, and bloodshot.

 

Officer interviewed party at scene who stated her 11-year-old daughter observed accident. Noted that after crash, several persons exited and fled. Also stated one person threw something with wires protruding from it over the fence. It was hanging from a tree. Object was an Arizona ice tea bottle with two tubes coming out the top of it. Appeared to be paraphernalia used to smoke marijuana.

 

Although driver appeared disoriented, said did not require medical attention. Offender failed several sobriety tests and placed under arrest. Transported to HQ for processing. Charged with DWI and aggravated DWI with BAC of .18%.

 

11/25: Stamford male sleeping on stairs with bottle of Romanoff Vodka and newspaper at Station Plaza. His non-driver ID revealed White Plains Police Department had an open warrant out for his arrest. Searched, restrained, and placed in holding cell. White Plains officers later picked him up.

 

11/26: Just bag it. Caller said she had verbal disagreement with her neighbor about properly bagging leaves and wanted to document it.

 

11/26: A runner from the Rye Rec’s Turkey Trot injured right ankle in area of Rye Beach Avenue and Milton Road. Party taken to Greenwich Hospital.

 

11/26: Cell phone found by runner during Turkey Trot and given to police.

 

11/26: Resident reported car driving recklessly on Grapal Street at high rate of speed around children. Complainant entered roadway to get attention of motorist, and was subsequently struck in the shin by vehicle.

11/28: Midland Avenue resident found red bicycle in front of his house.

11/28: Blue bicycle found in bushes outside Rye Free Reading Room.

 

11/28: Party reported strange phone call regarding delivery. Package addressed to late brother-in-law. When questioned, caller became belligerent, used profanity.

 

11/28: Resident reported being harassed on facebook by friend of her cousin. Said White Plains resident referred to her as his “enemy”, called her crazy, and warned her to be careful if she returns to her native Philippines.

11/30: Items stolen from Highland Road resident’s minivan overnight. Wallet located in neighbor’s yard. Bag and electronics taken along with cash.

 

11/30: Resident reported BMW’s passenger-side window smashed in at Station Plaza.

 

11/30: Complainant observed a suspicious incident – a van possibly following someone. Picture taken of vehicle and plate number.

 

11/30: Auxiliary officer’s duty jacket found. Said it was stolen from his personal vehicle.

 

11/30: Patriotic thief strikes again. Complainant reported son’s brand new red bike stolen from property in early April. On November 29, replacement bike – a blue one – also nabbed.

 

12/2: White Ford pick-up with CT plates passed through steady red light. NYSPIN revealed Waterbury resident’s privilege to drive in NY suspended. Arrested, released on bail.

 

12/2: Walk-in reported unauthorized activity on bank account.

 

12/3: Officer observed Buick Century make illegal left turn from Parson Street. Pulled over. NYSPIN revealed Bellerose, NY driver’s license revoked and registration suspended. Owner of vehicle was passenger. Her license checked with no issues. Car released to owner and driver placed under arrest.

 

12/4: Responded to Boston Post Road on report of vehicle striking utility pole. Male on sidewalk, 20-year-old Bronxville resident, was involved. Detected strong odor of alcohol on breath. Admitted to drinking, said he was coming from McDonalds and heading home. Driver failed all sobriety tests and blew a .16 BAC. Arrested and ROR’d. Lesson to all: Big Macs won’t mask your boozy breath.

 

12/4: Walk-in found Grace Church Street resident’s personal papers on lawn. Owner said car broken into sometime overnight. Entry gained through the sunroof.

 

12/4: Port Chester resident stated husband struck the head of their daughter into the door of beverage freezer in CVS. Husband said he accidentally hit door on his daughter’s head when opening it to get an energy drink. No injuries.

 

12/4: Hook Road resident reported vehicle broken into overnight. Perp entered through rear window.

 

12/4: Another Hook Road resident reported car radio stolen from Jeep Wrangler overnight. Doors were unlocked.

 

12/4: Walk-in said someone rearranged and damaged holiday decorations in his yard. Snowman was detached from ground, with anchors removed and metal nose pulled off. Corncob pipe, however, not pulled from Frosty’s cold, dead lips.   

 

12/6: Caller reported minor accident involving Vespa scooter and another car. No injuries.

 

12/7: Several youths overturning furniture at Rye Hospital Center. Upon arrival, spoke with nurse who said offender, 16-year-old Yonkers resident, went into her room and tossed furniture around. Offender resisted arrest, but eventually handcuffed.

 

12/7: Stools stolen from construction site on Cayuga Street. OK guys, back to work.

 

12/7: Forget planks and gold doubloons, Pirates of the Caribbean now involved in identity theft. Resident reported unauthorized withdrawal of funds from banking account. Transaction was ATM withdrawal of $500 from Disneyland in Anaheim.

 

12/8: Walk-in received unwanted phone calls of a disturbing political nature. That School Bond really had people riled up.

 

12/8: Responded to Purchase Street apartment on report of burglary. Victim said she left for work at 7 a.m. and returned at approximately 4 p.m. to discover jewelry boxes and personal items on top of bed emptied. Canvass of area yielded negative results. Maintenance manager accessed video surveillance, revealing three suspects enter at different times. Building personnel did not recognize them as tenants or employees. No signs of forced entry observed. Windows and doors locked prior to complainant leaving for work.

 

12/11: Unknown person tagged rear of Planet Pizza building wall with spray paint. Damage estimated at up to $2,000.
