3/28: Rye police officers and detectives, as well as County police descended on CVS just before noon, responding to caller’s report of ongoing kidnapping and extortion. Female using ATM handed note to bystander saying that her son had been kidnapped. Police ascertained party was victim of cruel hoax, causing her to take $180 from her account. RPD detectives investigating incident.
