Rye Country Day Headmaster Scott Nelson, students, faculty, and parent members of the environmental committee were on hand for the unveiling of the school’s new solar system November 4. The 24-kilowatt system consists of 96 solar panels, the environmental equivalent of recycling 450,000 cans of soda, planting 1,600 trees, and taking three cars off the road this year. The system was installed by Mercury Solar, which is headquartered in Port Chester.
