Revival On Purchase Street

In 2009, an important piece of Rye history, the Arcade Building, came up for sale. It was auctioned off by the estate of the Pulvermann family who had owned it since 1909, the year it was built. Interest among potential buyers was high. The House of Hanover, LLC, purchased the century-old building at 15-17 Purchase Street that fall.

Plans for renovation and restoration of this Rye classic were put in place right away. Upgrading the housing and reverting the ground floor to its original purpose – retail – were among the priorities. House of Hanover is pleased to announce that the walkway level of stores is now complete with a varied mix of retail stores. Among them are:

The Kindly Fruits

Proprietor Natalie Kabasakalian provides an inviting environment for fair trade and ethically sourced items like organic cotton sleepwear, kitchen goods, and artisanal decorative items.

The Best Little Hair Salon in Rye

Don Miriello and Jonna Crispens bring their long-term commitment to Rye to this new location. Expansive arched windows frame the verdant nearby landscaping, bathing the salon in natural light.

Little Learners

Abby Lombardo-Kumar is devoted to child development. Her enrichment studio offers a boutique learning experience for young children. Design-to-learn play space, for 3½ to 5 year olds, provides parents with the tools to bring the classroom to their children at home.

R’s Design Eyelash

While having a sought-after salon in Manhattan, this new location brings top stylists to Rye. They are expert in providing luxurious eyelash extension techniques to create an elegant look for impressively beautiful eyes.
