The fall tennis season is over for the Garnets, who finished in the middle of the league (6-5-1) but had some standout performances. Sophomore Maggie Tolley, who stepped up to play first singles, had a 9-3 record and made it to the Conference quarterfinals. Junior Alex Manning had a winning season at second singles and pulled out some tough wins against quality opponents. Ella Girling, also a sophomore, had a solid doubles season and moved straight up the ladder to play first doubles by the end of the year.
Coach Anthony Campbell is looking forward to next season when the seven quality sophomores will be back in the lineup. “The team shows real promise,” he said.
