Rye Y Parties Like it’s 1999 (and ’89 and ’79)

The Rye YMCA had guests “Dancing through the Decades” — 70s, 80s, and 90s style — at its annual benefit on March 1 at Harrison Meadows Country Club. The event, which raised money for Y programs, honored Callie Erickson with the Community Service Award and Caroline Scully and Lew Nash with the Gold Spirit Awards.“

We are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of this event,” said Sabrina Murphy, Rye Y CEO. “The generosity of our supporters allows us to expand our reach and offer life-changing opportunities to even more individuals, regard-less of their background or circumstances.”

Proceeds from the event sup-port the Y’s Financial Assistance Program, Y Cares, which provides scholarships for camp, child care, and youth and adult programs. Y Cares also supports programs offered free of charge to the community, including LIVESTRONG at the YMCA for cancer survivors and Safety Around Water, a drowning prevention initiative for young children. Last year, the Y awarded over $400,000 to individuals and families who needed a helping hand.
