On May 21, both the Rye City and Rye Neck Union Free School districts held elections to approve budgets for the 2019-2020 school year and board members.
In the Rye City District, voters approved the $90.96 million budget by a vote of 1,611 to 655.
Jennifer Boyle received the largest number of votes among three candidates, 1,426, and was elected to a second term. Jane Anderson was elected to her first term, winning 1,355 votes.
The results are unofficial until certified by the County. A total of 110 absentee ballots were received. There were 82 write-in candidates, whose names will be released by the end of the week.
Rye Neck voters approved a $43.1 million budget by a vote of 725 to 196, a 79% passage rate. The budget keeps the District under the New York State tax levy cap for the eighth consecutive year.
Voters also elected two members of the community to serve on the Board of Education. President Pietro Fasolino was re-elected, and Gloria Spedafino Golle was elected to serve her first term on the Board.
