The Rye Red Storm won the 5th grade championship of the “A” Division of the Westchester Tri-County Basketball league by easily defeating New Rochelle in the championship game at the College of New Rochelle. The team, a collection of nine boys from Rye who have played together since 3rd grade, went 16-0 to conclude a perfect season. In addition, the boys competed in the House of Sports league in Ardsley and went 10-1. They were crowned champions last week after defeating the Metro Mavericks, 64-50, in front of a packed house at Resurrection School.

Hard work, team chemistry, and some talented young players led by coaches Ken McComb, Adam Gibbs, and Mike Tepedino all contributed to this remarkable season.
