WEDDINGS
Collins — O’Hare
Morgan Elizabeth Collins and Dr. James Denis O’Hare were married on June 16, 2018 at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah, Georgia. The Rev. Thomas Collins, a Roman Catholic priest, President of Archbishop Stepinac High School, and a friend of the groom’s family, officiated.
The bride, 32, who received a master’s degree in biology at The University of New Orleans, is a Ph.D. candidate in biomedical science at Tulane University.
She is the daughter of Commander Jeremiah Collins and Carol Morgan of Savannah. The bride’s father is a retired U.S. naval officer.
The groom, also 32, is a doctor who is completing a fellowship in endocrinology at Tulane University School of Medicine. After graduating <cum laude> from Fairfield Prep and Georgetown University, he received a medical degree from Tulane School of Medicine.
He is the son of Bernard F. and Kathleen O’Hare of Harrison, N.Y. The groom’s father is an employee benefits and executive compensation partner in the New York City law firm of Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler. The groom’s mother serves on the Auxiliary Board of St. Vincent’s Hospital in Harrison, and on the board of Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities, a nonprofit organization that provides resources and support for parents of children with learning disabilities.
The groom is the grandson of the late Denis McInerney, who was a senior partner at the New York law firm of Cahill, Gordon & Reindell, and Irene McInerney, a 40-year Rye resident who was a pioneer in early television, appearing on the DuMont Television Network where she hosted “The Women’s Club”, a well-regarded talk show and participated in the RCA Allied Stores Television Caravan which introduced television beyond the East Coast to the rest of the country in 1947.
The couple met on OkCupid. Their first date was at the New Orleans Zoo, where they discovered a mutual love of science and live music. Thirteen months later, in a park overlooking Jackson Square on one side and the Mississippi River on the other, the groom, after waiting a considerable time for tourists to leave, proposed.
After a mini-moon at the Jekyll Island Club in Georgia, the couple honeymooned on a cruise to the western Caribbean in August.
