Two local students won competition for their music and poetry.
Melody Hsu, an accomplished young pianist and a freshman at Rye Country Day School, has been named a 1st Place Winner in the 2012 International Concerto Competition.
For her audition, she played Chopin’s Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11, Movement 1.
Winners will perform at Carnegie Hall and also have the opportunity to travel to Russia to perform with the Kostroma Symphony. The competition is sponsored by the American Fine Arts Festival.
