An Unsafe Stroll at Playland
On our walk at Playland yesterday, my wife and I were disappointed by how many of the parkgoers we encountered were disobeying the social distancing regulations. The law requires that everyone wear a mask when they are outside their home, yet none of the runners or cyclists were and only half of the pedestrians. Moreover, most of the runners failed to practice safe distancing and gave no warning when they passed us from behind.
When we walked past the roadway side of the Ice Casino, we saw three County policemen, the only ones we encountered on our long walk. Two of them were wearing masks, but the third was not, and none of them were on the Boardwalk where the public was.
All members of the public should display proper consideration of others and the law by wearing masks, and police should be where the public is to remind them to do so.
