A Bubble in Time

The Jay Heritage Center welcomed 1,300 visitors last Sunday for its Jay Day celebration, which ushers in fall every September.

People rambled all over the 23-acre property — from the National Landmark childhood home of John Jay to the great lawn and fields and down to the carriage house, where a number of educational and engaging activities awaited.

The music in the air was provided by School of Rock Mamaroneck students as well as Yale’s amazing a cappella group, the Spizzwinks.

All ages enjoyed old-fashioned games, comfort fare from food trucks (best grilled cheese sandwiches ever), balloons shaped into unique characters, and, most of all, the non-stop magical Bubble Bus.

A salute to members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 5 NYC for coming out for the occasion, and to Tracy Edwards for putting on an historically great day once again.
