There was about as much activity at Daniel Warren Elementary School on November 25 as there was at Plymouth Rock in 1620.
There was about as much activity at Daniel Warren Elementary School on November 25 as there was at Plymouth Rock in 1620. Kindergarteners and first graders celebrated with a cornucopia of Thanksgiving traditions and festivities. While lesson plans centered on the history of Pilgrims and Native Americans, gratitude was the word of the day. In many classes, parents and grandparents were invited to join their children in making crafts and sharing all the things for which they are thankful.
First graders in Mrs. Drace’s class presented a skit and Venn diagrams to their families that contrasted the First Thanksgiving with that of today. They sang fun tunes beckoning “Mr. Turkey” to run away and recited poems of thanks. It was as rich a feast as they’re likely to ever have.
