A Spring in Our Community Step

A Spring in Our Community Step

The Rye Youth Council has long been in the business of engaging, empowering, and educating Rye teens, but it also knows how to do lunch for adults. At its Spring Benefit Luncheon April 27 at Shenorock Shore Club, hundreds of supporters and friends enjoyed a pause in their day’s occupation and celebrated the organization’s fine work.

After mingling and catching up and in between courses, guests heard from Rye High School seniors Kaitlyn Rentala and Alec Jautz about their volunteer work with the Youth Council and were introduced to Jessica Lodato, the new Educator.

Kristin Jautz introduced Robin Jovanovich, recipient of the Community Recognition Award, and a State proclamation from Assemblyman Steve Otis.

Stephanie Spierings had the pleasure of introducing the guest speaker, Andrea Canning. The “Dateline NBC” correspondent spoke humorously and candidly about journalism and motherhood.
