Always Rooting for the Home Team
In Indian Village’s 4th of July Softball game, the normally close-knit neighborhood split into North versus South.
South opened up an early lead 4-0. In the 4th inning, North scored three runs on a base-clearing triple by James Geoghegan to tie the game 4-4. In the 5th, Ed Sobol went opposite field with a two-out, three-run home run to power the South to a 9-4 win.
Tryfan Evans went the distance on the mound for the South, and Paul Murphy did the same for the North.
After the game, families came together for a celebratory picnic at Rye Rec.
