The festival brings works of art in a variety of mediums, including oil and watercolor painting, photography, and sculpture, to restaurant and shop windows both on and off the avenue. Entertainers perform on downtown streets and most locations host special receptions for the artists and the public.

All of the art is for sale, and can be picked up at the end of the event. Checks and credit cards are accepted. All art sales go to support the Greenwich Arts Council. A festival map and guide may be found on the GAC website, www.greenwicharts.org.

Founded in 1973, the GAC promotes visual, performing, and literary arts in the community by encouraging artists and building audiences for the arts. GAC manages the Greenwich Arts Center in the Old Town Hall Building, where it offers low-cost administrative, studio, and performance spaces.

Art to the Avenue, now in its 16th year, is up and running through May 27.
