The Clay Art Center’s Board of Directors honored Judith Weber at their 7th annual fundraiser, Hand-in-Hand: Celebrating Clay & Community, held October 16 at Willow Ridge Country Club. Weber was honored for her life’s work as an educator, designer, and ardent champion of the arts.
The event raised over $80,000 with over 180 guests in attendance. All proceeds will benefit the Center’s community arts outreach programs, scholarships to under-served youth, and Artist-in-Residence program.
Special guest, Village of Port Chester Mayor Neil Pagano, commented on the impact that the Center has had on the community: making a difference in the lives of 1,300 Port Chester pre-K to middle school students; providing scholarship programs for over 400 Port Chester children; and bringing meaningful art-making to all ages.
Guests enjoyed piano music by award-winning local musician Garry Novikoff. NYS State Senator George Latimer was the auctioneer extraordinaire. Delicious food was served by seventeen local restaurants including Acuario, Andrea’s 24, Char, Famous Greek Kitchen, Fogama, Frankie & Johnnie’s Steakhouse, Gaucho Grill, Kneaded Bread, Lulu’s Cake Boutique, Palomino, Spadaro Ristorante, Tandoori, Turkish Meze, Whole Foods, Wobble Café, and ZeppoleMe.
A special video of images set to music captured the spirit of the Clay Art Center.
