The Westchester Chamber Music Society is honored to present the final Westchester performance of the celebrated Orion String Quartet on Sunday, October 22 at 4 at Congregation Emanu-El on the Rye/Harrison border.
During their distinguished 36 distinguished years on the international scene, the Quartet has been lauded for their performances of both the classical masterworks as well as key works of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Established in 1987, the Quartet — violinists David Phillips and Todd Phillips, violist Steven Tenenbom, and cellist Timothy Eddy — took its name from the constellation Orion as a metaphor for the personality each musician brings to its collective pursuit of the highest musical ideals.
On the October 22 program are Schubert’s Quartet in G Major, Op. 61, and Beethoven’s Quartet in B-flat Major, Op. 130 with Grosse Fugue. A Q&A with the musicians will follow the concert.
