Sunglasses are expressive, fashionable, quirky, and functional all at once. I own two shopping bags’ full. Think about collecting a few styles to hide behind to suit your every mood and the shape of your face.
Oval
You can wear anything. Experiment with shapes. Try something trendy, more edgy. A rectangle or butterfly-shaped lens, even the Elvis Costello horn-rimmed will work. Cat-eye frames will accentuate your high cheekbones.
Round
Try a more angled look. Square and rectangular-shaped frames will sharpen your features and add definition. A horizontal-shaped lens will make a round face look longer and slimmer.
Heart-Shaped
A butterfly or cat-eye will work. Frames with subtle metals or a light-color or translucent plastic are a good choice. A lens that is wider at the bottom, i.e., aviator, helps offset a narrow chin.
Angular
Add curves to your look with round frames. Cat-eye and aviator work for you. Oval frames will add length to your face.
The Latest Trends
Light and Girly
Soft, translucent colors and feminine touches like floral frames. Because girls just want to have fun, try one of the glam, gold-flecked translucent styles.
Retro
They either look Gatsby 20s or Beatles 60s. Focal point: the round frame. Note: if you have a round face, the true John Lennons won’t work for you.
Bold and Colorful
Frames in primary colors, purple, and neon green. Top pick: ombre lenses.
Earthy
Brown, tortoise, sand colors. Make these OMG-worthy by finding them in an interesting shape, like a modified cat-eye or another favorite retro style.
