We are fortunate to have ten paintings by Rye’s own Joseph Blumstein on view at the Rye Free Reading Room. In these striking oil-on-canvas abstracts, Blumstein depicts the intertwined emotions and experiences that shape our lives and invites us to delve into our own emotions. The exhibit runs through October 30.
Blumstein spent his working years as a business executive, living in Sao Paulo, Milan, and Pittsburgh, and later New York City.
In his 20s he lived in New York City, studied at the Art Students League, and pursued an art career. In retirement, he has been able to devote himself to painting.
