WestFair Rides and WESTMED Medical Group have launched a collaborative pilot program, arranging rides for patients 60 and older that no longer drive to medical appointments at the WESTMED Rye office.
WestFair Rides and WESTMED Medical Group have launched a collaborative pilot program, arranging rides for patients 60 and older that no longer drive to medical appointments at the WESTMED Rye office.
Dr. Barney Newman, WESTMED Medical Director, says, “This program ensures that transportation is not a barrier for participating patients who need to see the health professionals that they count on.”
WestFair Rides is a NYS non profit corporation formed to develop and manage volunteer rides for older residents in the greater Westchester County region, including part of western Fairfield County. They recruit volunteer drivers to help their older neighbors to remain mobile and connected to health care providers and community activities.
“We are starting with rides to Theall Road, but over time, our service area and community partners will grow,” said Catherine Wynkoop, WestFair Rides’ President.
