The rain didn’t curb the enthusiasm of families who had looked forward to the Rye Nature Center’s late-winter celebration on March 2. Families simply dressed for the occasion — rain gear and boots.
Once they made their way to the top of the hill, they not only took part in time-honored activities, including log-sawing, candle-making, maple-sugaring, and marshmallow-roasting, but hiked the trails through the forest and were enraptured by the live raptor show.
For nearly half a century, on a single afternoon, the Nature Center has engaged families in simple pleasures and made us ever more curious about the natural world.
