The community came out to help Longford’s Own Made Ice Cream celebrate its 20th anniversary June 10. The east end of Elm Place was closed to traffic to ensure that everyone had a chance to have a lick or a lot.
A dozen ice cream lovers competed to win a month-long supply of Longford’s. They were each given a quart of the signature vanilla ice cream and 15 minutes in which to eat as much as they could. Congratulations to the brain freeze winner, Issys Zizcaino.
The ice cream devourers weren’t the only superheroes there. A number of storybook characters were on hand.
The event was extra tasty because of the participation of Al Dente Pizzeria and 350° Classic Bakeshop.
