7/20: Greenhaven Road homeowner reported theft of the “Drive Slowly, Children Playing” sign attached to her fence. Owner’s Deposition completed.
7/20: Cottage Street homeowner returned home at 8:20 p.m. to find house burglarized: Bike, laptop, son’s iPod gone. Bike later discovered at corner of Grace Church Street and returned by police.
7/21: Officer observed Croton-on-Hudson man leave Rye City Court, where he was ordered not to operate vehicle while DMV case was pending, and immediately step into his car and start to drive. Re-arrested immediately.
7/22: Citizen brought in eyeglass case, found near Purchase and Cedar streets, containing marijuana, Elements Rice papers, Diamond Grind, Bic lighter, and glass pipe. But no eyeglasses. Suspicious. Tagged and placed in evidence bag.
7/23: All units responded at 12:30 a.m. to report that someone had driven off roadway on Old Post Road. Driver, with double skull on right middle finger and lightning bolt coming out of cloud on left hand, stumbled out of woods, bloodied and intoxicated, speaking unintelligibly to officers. Eventually transported to White Plains Hospital, where he failed Field Sobriety Test. Told hospital staff that EMS workers had given him his injuries; became angry when officer wouldn’t answer call to offender on his bloody cell phone. Canvass of area showed man had run red light, smashed through two fences on Packard Court before striking Con Ed pole. Hospitalized, incarcerated.
7/23: Common-law couple living on Midland Avenue in fracas: woman punched in stomach and thrown into closet; child slapped on mouth, shoved out of room (with door slammed on hand and arm). Tug-of-war over younger child ensued. Woman transported to Greenwich Hospital; man charged with Assault and Endangering Welfare of Child. ADA recommended $10,000 bail; judge ordered offender to post $800.
7/25: Grace Church Street resident reported someone entered garage, broke driver’s side window of 2011 Porsche 924. Nothing stolen. Owner’s Deposition filed.
7/25: Driver of 2004 Chevy van reported errant golf ball from Apawamis Golf Club smashed driver’s side window. Golfer treated on scene for severe slice.
7/25: Passerby gave officer an HP hard drive found in Car Park 2. Bagged and placed in locker #6.
7/27: Red GMC safari stopped while traveling north on Midland Avenue for cracked windshield. Did Stamford driver have valid license, registration, or insurance? No on all counts. Car towed, offender taken to Police HQ, and processed.
7/28: Packard Court homeowner returned to residence at 2:15 p.m. after two hours away to find home heavily ransacked. Reported seeing older, dark blue SUV with NJ plates earlier, following her out of cul-de-sac. Detectives processed scene.
7/28: Officer stopped during Sidewalk Sale, was handed silver color ring found in space 159 of Car Park 2. Ring entered as found property.
7/29: Aftermath of “house party” on Brevoort Lane: XBox and Apple laptop taken from residence. Owner’s Deposition taken.
7/30: After caller reported seeing youth in green baseball cap, tank top, and backpack in rear of CVS lot buying drugs, male fitting description stopped at Haviland Lane. Voluntarily removed bag of alleged marijuana and handed it to officer, saying, “Here, you can have it.” Suspect also handed over unsmoked Dutch Masters cigar. Released in custody of mother, who may not know he’s a cigar smoker.
7/31: Black Sims Jr. and red Trek 3700 bicycles found on Boston Post Road. Placed in police rack on side of building.
8/1: Construction manager of Forest Avenue site reported copper pipe and fitting stolen. Statement taken.
8/1: Thief cut wires to Johnson Place residence burglar alarm, helped self to Apple MacBook, which was recovered hours later in Mamaroneck. Computer being held as evidence by Detective Division.
8/1: Fisherman off Edith Read found to have possession of out-of-season winter flounder. Summons issued.
8/3: Wine box full of knives turned in by resident of Milton Harbor House. Explains why wine from box had metallic taste.
8/5: Car parked across three spaces in Car Park 3 found to have two flat tires on passenger side. Towed by Hannigan’s.
8/6: Peck Avenue family returning from Cancun vacation found front door unlocked, bedroom safe pried from wall and floor boards. Jewelry, $30,000 in cash, credit cards and citizenship papers taken. Nephew, who had key to take in mail and water flowers, to be questioned.
8/8: Car stop on Theodore Fremd Avenue near Garver Drive turned up marijuana and cocaine in baggie. Car towed; driver and passenger held on numerous charges including None/Improper Seat Restraint for Minor Child.
8/9: Pharmacist at local pharmacy believed Mt. Sinai Medical Center prescription for Oxycodone to be forged: not only was paper of poor quality, but when phone number on “prescription” was called, he was “alarmed by how fast the other party came back with the information.” Bronx suspect, with “Heaven” and “Daddy’s Little Girl” tattooed on left arm, charged with Possession of Forged Instrument.
8/11: Hen Island owner of 2003 Dodge van with license plate reading NY FLOATE reported parking on Meadow Place overnight. Had three flat tires when he returned this afternoon. Filed Owner’s Deposition.
