At the 31st Annual County Executive’s Youth Awards Luncheon earlier this summer, Lauren Steers received the Adult Award: Asset Builder/Outstanding Youth Worker. The award is presented to those individuals in the youth services field that go above and beyond their normal work day to promote positive youth development and serve as a positive role model to all. Steers is Coordinator of the High School Placement and Graduate Support Program at San Miguel Academy in Newburgh.
As a published poet, Kent Iarocci knows something about perseverance. When he decided to do a show for RyeTV, he chose a difficult subject: the War on Islam. “Persevere” was shown for six weeks and is available on DVD from RyeTV. As Iarocci says, “Take your time, you will learn something.”
