The holiday season has been a busy one for Rye Country Day Upper School Peer Leaders. In November, they prepared their families’ favorite dishes and created a memorable Thanksgiving meal for residents of the Kids in Crisis shelter in Cos Cob. As part of their Thanksgiving project, the Peer Leaders also created journals, collages, and handmade gifts for the children and teens at the shelter.
This month, the Peer Leaders continued the tradition of participating in the U.S. Postal Service’s Operation Santa program. Each year, they raise money through various fundraisers and visit the main Post Office in New York City to choose letters and make the holiday wishes of many children and families come true.
