Among the good news of the new year is that Mike Kenny, a Rye native who has been a member of the Rye Police Department for close to 15 years, was named the Village Officer.
Kenny loves his new downtown beat. “I’m very communication-oriented and enjoy talking to business owners and residents.” The father of four added, “I’m not sure my 14- and 12-year-old would agree, but I’m making every effort to talk to, not at the children and teens I encounter after school. The important thing is to build a mutually respectful relationship.”
He received a warm welcome at the Rye Chamber of Commerce meeting January 9.
