Nobody puts on a charming and historic celebration quite like the Jay Heritage Center. Hot chocolate, cider, wine, and delicious cookies covered every table of the John Jay house at their yuletide open house, held on a recent Sunday. Children and grownups participated in artistic face painting and took home comedic caricatures of themselves.
The nostalgic event was made all the more festive by the angelic sounds of two <a capella> college groups. Columbia University’s premier all-female Metrotones performed first. They were followed by the legendary Yale Spizzwinks, the country’s oldest all-male group, which was founded in 1914.
