The Berkshire Breakout
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices may be relatively new in town, but according to Susan Janart, Director of Sales, strong national brand recognition and personalized and innovative marketing strategies have led to tremendous growth.
Janart and her team see a positive 2020 market in Rye. “Millennials are looking to purchase. Renters are readyto take advantage of more favorable rates, and Baby Boomers are deciding it’s time to sell and find another property.”
“For January, the median sales price for Rye homes was up 127 percent, $2.1 million, over last year, while inventory was down 31 percent,” she says.
In order to generate more excitement at open houses, BHHS has created Artisan Afternoons : Local sales representatives recommend interior designers, artists, jewelry makers who attract agents to tour a home and enjoy an afternoon with their peers.
Berkshire is experiencing an uptick in sellers staging or “freshening up” their homes. “The wonderful thing is our sales team provides clients with personalized tips about decluttering or painting,” she reports,” although most agents offer to have a specialist come to offer ideas.
It’s all working, as Berkshire is seeing clients coming from Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and, of course, from within Rye where homeowners are both downsizing or increasing square footage as their families grow.
