For over 60 years, The Rye Arts Center has kept its mission to inspire interest and maximize participation in the arts at the forefront of its priorities. As the center of culture in Rye, the Center continues to grow and expand beyond its boundaries — and this past year is no exception!
This past season, The Rye Arts Center offered over 200 unique classes and workshops for ages 3 through senior adults, in a multitude of mediums, to thousands of students far and wide.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never touched a paintbrush or use one daily, The RAC has you covered!
In addition to classes, the RAC has also helped foster the arts in our community by introducing public art projects such as Rye Poetry Path and Rye’sAbove. Both these programs employ artists, raise funds for the underserved, and beautify the local landscape.
Community engagement through arts education and outreach programs is an important aspect of cultural development. Such programs provide opportunities for community members to learn new skills and techniques while also engaging with others in a creative and collaborative environment.
In the future, The Rye Arts Center is looking to expand its footprint and continue its good work. By investing in the arts, communities can potentially boost their economic growth and create a more vibrant and sustainable local economy. Increased access to the arts can have a positive impact on the quality of life. If you’ve never been to the RAC, you owe yourself a visit — you won’t be disappointed!
